Adding 3D to Photoshop CS3 Extended

Ever wish you could add 3D objects to your designs?

Ever wish you could add 3D objects to your designs? Well now you can! Using the extended version of Photoshop CS3 you can import 3D objects and manipulate them directly.

Here is a screen cast about how to do it. This was my first screen cast ever, so please forgive the low audio recording (you may have to turn up your speakers) and other blunders. I'm still learning!

Since this video was recorded, we've learned there is much more you can do with 3D in Photoshop CS3 Extended. Stay tuned for more 3D fun!

Love the new 3D in Adobe - great use of 3DVIA.com. ;-)

3dVia is a great resource. I can't wait to actually use some of their models in my designs. I'll have to review the license agreement more and see what the restrictions are.

Cool. Do you know if it supports the Maya format (.ma or .mb)? The screencast is a bit high res for viddler so its hard to see the details. Perhaps you could post the file formats it supports other than obj?

Here is a screenshot where you can see all the various file formats you can import. Looks like it only supports the following formats at the moment: .3ds .obj .dae .kmz .u3d

Not too shabby, though... it's actually a pretty similar list to what 3DVIA supports so there is some synergy there.
